Property Two - Large Loss - (Advanced Property Adjusting)
This 4 day course trains adjusters who have had some adjusting experience in the handling of large and total loss type claims, including fire losses. Students will be instructed in the proper inspection, documentation and settlement of these type of losses. Advanced use of Xactimate in the estimating of severely damaged structures and total losses will be utilized throughout the course. Reframing, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and all other trades will be reviewed and the students will learn how to negotiate an agreed repair price with contractors on these large losses (Estimate Reconciliation). Emphasis will be placed on other topics such as: Additional Living Expense (ALE), Loss of Use and Rent, Personal Property Damage & Replacement and handling Earthquake Damage Claims.
Advanced Xactimate
If you are struggling to learn all the shortcuts and advanced options that are available with Xactimate to make your estimating easier, faster and more accurate, this is the class for you. Our trainers are among the very few national Associate Xactimate Trainers who regularly attend the classes in Orem Utah to stay certified. Check the Xactimate website. We explore and teach adjusters how to write claims estimates with more efficiency using advanced options. This class is 3 days long and scheduled pending demand.
Mobile Home Claims Adjusting
Adjusting Mobile Home Claims is a bit more complex than regular Residential losses due to the uniqueness of Policies, Coverage and Nomenclature. This class will teach the adjuster how to inspect, write and close Mobile Home Claims. You will learn where to find the Mobile Home line items in Xactimate, how to determine ACV and what additional documents are required to process the claim and handle a total loss. This is a 1 day class for adjusters who have field experience. Classes are scheduled pending demand or prior to Hurricanes.
California Earthquake Authority (CEA)
The purpose of this course is to educate the insurance adjuster on the types of damages expected from an earthquake – both residential and commercial property. This course will also help explain various building design codes as well as the basic understanding of earthquakes and why they occur. Furthermore, the course will provide information on the types of engineers that may be called upon to assist in evaluating any pre-existing damages verses earthquake related damages to a structure and the estimated cost of repairs. Any property claims adjuster should find value in this seminar as the basic principles for residential construction and commercial building design come into play when assessing structural and cosmetic damages. As part of the Adjuster Accreditation process, this course will also reference the California Earthquake Authority, earthquake policies, claims mediation process and various assistance programs available. This course is designed for a 4-hour time slot (2 hours on Policy and 2 hours for the Engineering) and upon completion attendees will be provided with a certificate good for 3 years (based on CA DOI guidelines).
Steep and Tall Rope and Harness Class
This training is designed to instruct the attendee how to safely and effectively climb, measure, examine and photograph roofs with slope pitch in excess of 6/12. The proper use of a “Rope and Harness” will allow the adjuster to safely inspect these types of roofs with much less risk of injury. Ladder safety and proper usage for high roofs will also be part of the class curriculum. We have a new 12/12 pitch roof structure to practice single and team climbing with state-of-the-art climbing gear. We follow OSHA Safety standards for this class.
